Joint Operations Looking For Missing Citizens Allegedly Dragged By Crocodiles When Taking Wudhu

The joint team of Basarnas Pasaman, West Sumatra continued the search for the missing Pasisia Silen (35) which was allegedly attacked by a crocodile on Thursday, January 19 yesterday.

"This morning the joint Basarnas team, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and other relevant agencies continued their search for victims," said SAR Pasaman Coordinator, Dio V at Simpang Empat, Friday, January 20, quoted from Antara. The search for women was carried out using one rubber boat and fishing boat.

The victim was allegedly attacked by a crocodile while trying to take ablution on the banks of the Batang Pasaman River on Thursday (19/1) at around 04.00 WIB. The river is about 40 meters from his residence.

"Towards dawn my wife wanted to take ablution on the riverbank. I heard a voice asking for help, when she was seen there was no longer any more," said Hidayat's husband. Meanwhile, the Head of Jorong Rantau Panjang, M Nur, said the victim was currently being searched by a joint team from BPBD, Basarnas, TNI and Polri as well as with the community.

"After the incident, we immediately reported to the sub-district government and the nagari government about the missing residents being attacked by crocodiles," he said.

Proses pencarian korban dilakukan dengan penyelisir pada pinggir sungai dan tengah sungai yang menjadi titik-tentik yang diduga tempat dari vera.Kepala Bidang Perventan dan Kesiagaan BPBD Pasaman Barat Zulkarnain meminta masyarakat yang berdomisili di daerah estuara dan pesisir pantai Pasaman Barat agar lebih hati dalam beraktivitas di lingkungan sungai dan estuara.Dalam tiga Minggu ini sudah ada tiga kejadian warga di tertam vera. Diharap masyarakat waspada," harapnya.
