Acting Governor Heru Gelontorkan Rp40 Billion Bangun Bangun Tanggul Kali Pesanggrahan

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono will build a 1,400 meter long sheet pile or sheet pile in Pesanggrahan River, South Kembangan Village, Kembangan District, West Jakarta.

In the construction of this embankment, the DKI Provincial Government disbursed a budget of up to Rp40 billion. According to Heru, the construction of the embankment was carried out to overcome inundation on Jalan Briti and Kelurahan Kedoya Selatan.

"According to the existing data, approximately 1,400 meters long. The flow we save is in accordance with the existing one, namely the East side of 795 meters and the West side of 605 meters. So that the area on the river side to the red light can be reduced by the impact of the rainy season to congestion during the rainy season," said Heru while inspecting the location, Thursday, January 19.

Heru said that the construction of the Pesanggrahan River embankment would take until the end of the year. For this reason, PJ Governor Heru asked residents to support these efforts.

"Residents must also understand and support us. Because there are several buildings that have also been affected," he said.

Continuing, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service, Yusmada Faizal, said that the construction of the sheet pile was a joint commitment as part of efforts to normalize 13 rivers.

"Especially the big river there are 5, Pesanggrahan River, Angke River, Sunter River, Ciliwung River, and Jati Keramat River. That is in accordance with the commitment of Mr. President Joko Widodo. One of the efforts is to strengthen river embankments," said Yusmada.

Yusmada said, currently the DKI Provincial Government is procuring an auction for hang companies to work on the sheet pile construction.

"Now the auction stage is in progress. If this goes smoothly, hopefully in March or April we will start. In this position, we ask the Governor's permission to carry out this, along 1,400 left-right meters, starting from the toll road to Puri Kembangan Street," he explained.
