Increase Financial Literacy In The Community, OJK LIKEs Digital Games
JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) launched the Indonesian Smart Digital Games as part of efforts to increase financial literacy and inclusion in the community.
OJK Director of Public Relations Darmansyah said the educational application wrapped in games was first launched in December 2022 and now has a digital financial literacy module, namely the selection of financial products, cyber Babi, fintech lending, and consumer complaint channels.
"The initiative to make digital literacy games is carried out by the OJK to create a strong, responsible digital financial ecosystem and pay attention to consumer protection aspects in the midst of low level of digital financial service literacy in Indonesian society," he said in a press statement quoted on Thursday, January 19.
According to Darmansyah, based on the results of a national survey of financial literacy and inclusion in 2022, it shows 41 percent and 72 percent. He said, this value shows that quite a lot of people have taken advantage of digital financial services without adequate knowledge.
"This has become a special concern for OJK, because the lack of public literacy in the use of digital financial services will lead to new risks," he said.
Darmansyah added that this program is expected to increase consumer awareness and understanding and become a catalyst in an effort to achieve financial inclusion targets, especially digital finance that has been set by the government.
"This medicine illustrates the daily conditions felt by users in adopting digital financial services so that it can help people's understanding to be more literate about digital financial innovation," he said.
For information, the digital smart application has been downloaded more than 10,000 times and can be obtained by the public through the Google Play Store and Apple Store.
