BTN Expansing In Financing Sharia-Based Houses

JAKARTA - Director of Consumer Bank BTN Hirwandi Gafar stated that the expansion carried out in various regions is to work on the potential of a sharia-based housing finance business that is currently in demand by the public, as well as to support government programs to improve the sharia ecosystem in Indonesia.

"We will continue to open Sharia Branch Offices (KCS) in various regions. This year after Karawang in West Java and Bandar Lampung, then BTN Syariah will open KCS in Pontianak, West Kalimantan," Hirwandi said in an official statement, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 18.

According to him, economic growth in Lampung Province continues to show positive movement with a figure of 3.9 percent in the third quarter of 2022 and still recording a high number of housing needs.

Referring to data from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), there are still more than 227 thousand families in Lampung who do not yet have a home. This figure is dominated by the housing needs of more than 101 thousand millennial families.

One of the interesting products offered by BTN Syariah until February 28, 2023, namely KPR HITS for Millennials by offering a down payment starting at one percent, ujroh starting at 6.99 percent and a period of up to 30 years.

With this product, Hirwandi is confident that he can distribute financing of more than IDR 50 billion, specifically for the Subsidized Home Ownership Credit (KPR) segment in Lampung.

"Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the sharia financing business in the region (Sumatra) recorded positive performance. Eight BTN Bank sharia offices in Sumatra, recorded performance beyond the set target," he said.

BTN Syariah now has nine branch offices throughout Sumatra, including Banda Aceh, Medan, Batam, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Bengkulu, Jambi, Padang, and Lampung.
