Indonesian Ambassador To Italy Muhammad Prakosa Dies In Rome
JAKARTA - Sad news came that the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Rome, Italy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Italy Muhammad Prakosa passed away on Tuesday.
This sad news was confirmed by a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah. He said the deceased died at around 10.55 local time in Rome, Italy.
"With a prayer that the late Husnul Khotimah, accepted by His side, and the bereaved family will be given fortitude and sincerity. Amen YRA," wrote Faizasyah in his statement via text message.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Rome in its upload on Instagram said that the deceased, who is also the Ambassador to Malta, Cyprus, San Marino and FAO, IFAD, WFP, and UNIDROIT, died at the Sacro Cuore FSR Roma, at the age of 62 years and 10 months.
Before becoming an ambassador, Muhammad Prakosa was a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI-P faction. The deceased also twice held ministerial positions.
In the era of President Abdurrahman Wahid, he served as Minister of Agriculture in the cabinet of National Unity. Meanwhile, in the era of President Megawati Soekarnoputri, the late Muhammad Prakosa was trusted to hold the position of Minister of Forestry.
Teuku Faizasyah added that there had been no news regarding the plan to repatriate and bury the deceased.
