Only Bags Of Support 2 Voters, La Nyalla Mattalitti Maju Jadi Will Candidates For Chairman Of PSSI
JAKARTA - The chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD), La Nyalla Mattalitti, officially ran as a candidate for PSSI General Chair for the 2023-2027 period. He has submitted his candidacy file at the PSSI office at GBK Arena, Senayan on Friday, January 13 afternoon.
La Nyalla dared to come forward with support for two votes. He received support from the East Java PSSI Provincial Management and Persela Lamongan.
After submitting the file, La Nyalla said he was ready to face whoever his opponent was. He also showed off the achievements he had made while leading PSSI in the 2015-2019 period.
"When I was holding PSSI we won the AFF. Our office was luxurious but the Menpora destroyed it. The guidance of referees and players went well," La Nyalla told reporters.
La Nyalla's move to get back into your face will not be easy. He will face tough rivals.
One of the names that emerged was the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir. In fact, La Nyalla admitted that she was trusted not to go forward. "I have heard that Juni Rahman (a member of the Executive Commission) told me that it's useless for me to run (nominate the chairman of PSSI), I will not win," he said. Even so, La Nyalla responded casually to the comments. Instead, he conveyed his views on his opponent, Erick Thohir, whom he considered also competent in competition.
"I said go ahead, but everything hasn't happened yet. So we're still going. Erick Thohir is good and the other general chairman candidates are all good," said the man who also served as PSSI Deputy Chairman.
La Nyalla had previously been the chairman of PSSI for the 2015-2019 period. During his leadership, PSSI was frozen by the Minister of Youth and Sports at that time, Imam Nahrawi.
At that time, PSSI rejected requests from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Professional Indonesian Sports Agency (BOPI) to postpone the schedule of League 1 (previously still in the Indonesian Super League).
The reason why the Ministry of Youth and Sports and BOPI at that time, a number of clubs did not meet the requirements. PSSI's freezing was also caused by PSSI officials at that time not responding to a warning letter from the Ministry of Youth and Sports three times.
In 2019, La Nyalla actually ran as a candidate for PSSI Chairman. But he decided to withdraw from his candidacy.
