BATAM - Bhabinkamtibmas Tiban Baru Aipda Indo assisted in mediating a resident in Tiban Baru, Sekupang District, Batam City because he was caught stealing baby needs in one of the shops with the excuse that his newborn son was born.Residents with the initials GP (23), were caught taking a baby soap, baby shampoo, wind oil for the baby and a box of powdered milk for the baby with a loss of Rp45,700.“Bhabinkamtibmas Aipda Indo said that in this case the shop chose to make peace and forgive each other, that both parties agreed to resolve the problem with several agreements,” said Sekupang Police Chief Kompol Zainal Abidin Christophel Tamba when contacted in Batam, Antara, Friday, January 13.Zainal explained that the goods taken by the GP were worth Rp45,700. From his confession he was desperate to steal because he was in need and had no money to buy the item.When caught by the shop waiter, he immediately contacted the local police officer. Bhabinkamtibmas who arrived at the location then secured the perpetrator.After being interrogated and discussed, and listened to the perpetrator's confession that the items he had stolen were for his newborn son, the shopkeeper finally forgiven the perpetrator."We are also grateful that in this case the shop chose to make peace and forgive each other. Both parties agreed to resolve the problem well. The perpetrator also apologized to the store and agreed to be resolved by deliberation, then the perpetrator also promised not to repeat the theft act again," he added.Zainal said that in handling the alleged theft case, his party prioritized the human side.
