This is because steel does not meet the quality requirements of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI)."The Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order has sealed a total of 419,537 steel rods with a total weight of 2,302 tons with an economic value of Rp32,228,000,000.00 at PT Long Teng Iron and Steel Product, Tangerang," said Deputy Head of the National Police's Corruption Prevention Task Force Novel Baswedan in his statement, Thursday, January 12.The destruction of thousands of steel rods was carried out in Tangerang on January 12. Then, in the process was attended by the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan.In addition, the destruction was also carried out as a form of administrative sanctions for violations committed by PT Long Teng Iron and Steel Product. This is because they violated the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 69 of 2018 concerning the Supervision of Circulating and/or Services Goods."The National Police's Corruption Prevention Task Force also helped improve steel management which involved several Ministries and Institutions," he said.According to him, if steel is not destroyed, there will be potential for corruption. This is because steel is one of the largest commodities traded in infrastructure development projects." “ So far, corruption has often occurred in infrastructure development projects that use the APBN and APBD, including by using materials that do not meet specifications," said Novel.In addition, member of the National Police's Corruption Prevention Task Force Yudi Purnomo Harahap said that his party would focus on several sectors in 2023.
