Investment Interests Grows, West Kalimantan IDX Targets Transactions And The Number Of Investors Increases By 35 Percent
PONTIANAK - The capital market in West Kalimantan Province continues to grow and is targeted to grow by 35 percent in 2023, both in terms of the number of investors and transactions.
"The capital market trend in West Kalimantan continues to experience growth or activity. This year's target is to make the same achievements as the previous year which grew above 30 percent," said Head of the West Kalimantan Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Representative Office, Taufan Febiola, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 11.
He explained that in 2022 there were 144,443 capital market investors in West Kalimantan and this figure grew by 39 from the previous year.
"Well, again why are we targeting to revive capital market growth by 35 percent of the number of investors in West Kalimantan, because in addition to the increasing trend, it is also because the potential in West Kalimantan is very large," he explained.
He explained that the huge potential of the capital market in West Kalimantan is because it is dominated by retail or individual investors and a large population, as new industrial estates grow, it will have an impact on improving the economy and people's purchasing power.
"We continue to maximize the existing potential. So that the number of market investors in West Kalimantan and transactions continues to increase," he said.
He said that currently 29 investment galleries in West Kalimantan have helped greatly increase the number of investors in West Kalimantan. In 2023, it is targeted that there will be five new investment galleries.
Then in 2023, his party will intensify programs targeting not only academics but also MSMEs. Furthermore, he also provides education to recognize products in the capital market to support additional investors at the business level.
"Integrated educational literacy programs combined with competitions that are more exciting targeting novice investors and our communities. We will also involve universities at the SMA or SMK level as well as we will collaborate with content creators with influencers who will participate in supporting our education and literacy activities in 2023," he explained.
