Wants To Go To The Market, A Mother Is Hit By A Tumbang Tree Due To Extreme Rain In West Lombok

NTB - A housewife with the initials MU (46) died when a tree fell due to extreme rain hit West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday, January 6 at around 07.00 WITA.

"There was one victim who died in a fallen tree incident on Jalan Rabat, Al Abror Hamlet, East Twin Bridge Village, at around 07.00 WITA," said West Lombok Police Chief AKBP Bagus N. Junaedi in West Lombok, NTB, Friday, January 6, confiscated from Antara.

Bagus said the victim, who is a resident of Tibu Lingkug Hamlet, Jembatan Kembar Timur Village, was originally about to go to the market in Al Abror Hamlet. However, suddenly a tree collapsed on him.

"The victim died on the spot. The residents then immediately took the body to the funeral home. The family accepted it sincerely for the incident and considered it a disaster," he said.

Bagus explained that the police immediately handled a fallen tree that crossed the middle of the road. Apart from the point that claimed lives, fallen trees also occurred at two other points in Lembar District.

The two points are in Gunung Sari Hamlet, Jembatan Kembar Village; and on Jalan Raya Yos Sudarso, Bawang Bunut Hamlet, Jembatan Keluhan Village. The tree fell due to extreme weather in Gunung Sari Hamlet causing one unit of residents' houses to be damaged.

"We, the West Lombok Police and the West Lembar Police, have visited the scene, handled it through cutting trees and regulating traffic flow," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Samapta West Lombok Police, AKP Bambang Indrat Sugianto, added that his staff had cleaned up fallen trees that blocked road access.

The West Lombok Police have deployed patrol members and Dalmas Pleton III of the Samapta Unit and its equipment, in the form of a chainsaw, to evacuate the fallen tree.

"It had caused traffic flow to be disrupted along the Jalan Raya Turnung Desa Jembatan. But now it can be passed back smoothly and safely," said Bambang.
