1 Neighborhood Association (RT) In North Jakarta Rob Floods Up To 25 Centimeters

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that coastal flooding or tidal flooding inundated 1 RT in Koja Village, North Jakarta, this morning as of 09.50 WIB.

"In North Jakarta, there is 1 RT in Koja Village with a height of 25 centimeters," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Friday, January 6.

Isnawa explained that the tidal wave in Koja Village was caused by high tides and also resulted in an increase in the alert status of the Fish Market Water Gate to Alert 2 (Alert).

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure water lines function properly together with local lurah and sub-district heads.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," Isnawa said.

Previously, vigilance was informed regarding the potential for flooding on the north coast of DKI Jakarta from January 3 to January 10, 2023.

The potential for tidal flooding this time is based on the full moon phenomenon on January 6, 2023, which has the potential to increase the maximum sea level.

"Based on water level data monitoring and tidal predictions, coastal flooding (rob) has the potential to occur in several coastal areas of Indonesia, including the north coast of DKI Jakarta," wrote the bpbddkijakarta Instagram account.
