Deep Purple Vocalist Ian Gillan Gives Honor To The Late Wife: Thank You For Your Love And Guidance
JAKARTA - Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan paid tribute to his wife Bron Gillan, who died on November 19. He is 67 years old.
Ian and Bron married in 1984 and have a daughter, Grace Gillan.
Last Wednesday, Ian took to his official website to write: "I pulled the arrow from my eyes while trying to follow the light and, bounced back while struggling to walk with my body half gone.
"My beloved wife, Bron, died of heart failure on Saturday 19 November 2022 at Exeter Hospital.
"It took me a few weeks until I could find words to honor him publicly. Publicly, because of our life together, (fourty years beautiful and happy), most of them are private. But, I don't think he minds if I say it loudly that 'I love you B my sweets, we are forever'. The key to sadness is softened by my continuous love. Thank you for your love and guidance. See you soon.'
"And, that she is cute, beautiful, intelligent, and very supportive of me and our daughter Grace, in our work; I often go on long tours and recording sessions, Bron holds a fort and makes a beautiful place for me and Grace, to go home.
"Now, I'm trying to refocus on the coming working year, which I'm grateful for (this is very helpful) and excited.
"But first of all, a vacation in the Caribbean before we (DP) started in Pennsylvania, February 10, '23."
"We're going a little around the coming year, so I look forward to seeing as many faces as possible of you smiling in the street, or in a bar somewhere."
