PKS TV YouTube Account Hacked, Replaced With Name Tesla Inc

JAKARTA - The YouTube account of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) with the channel name PKS TV changed its name to Tesla Inc on Wednesday, January 4, morning. The channel now contains content related to US entrepreneur Elon Musk and the Crypto business. The chairman of the PKS DPP for Public Relations Ahmad Mabruri, confirmed that the official PKS YouTube account was hacked by irresponsible and inaccessible people. He said, currently the PKS TV team is trying to restore the YouTube account with the 202 thousand subscriber. According to him, PKS TV is the YouTube account of a political party with the highest number of subscribers among other political parties in Indonesia. "We can inform that the official PKS TV YouTube account has been hacked and taken over by an irresponsible person. Changed the account name to Tesla Inc, and uploaded a video about Elon Musk and things related to the crypto world," said Mabruri when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, January 4. Mabruri revealed that the hacking of the PKS TV channel was similar to several public figures in the country. This is because the event of hacking his party account was not long ago after Raditya Dika and Arief Muhammad's YouTube account.

"There is a similarity where Raditya Dika's YouTube account at that time was also changed to a YouTube account with the name Tesla. The mode of taking over YouTube accounts with a large number of followers in Indonesia lately must be vigilant," said Mabruri.

Mabruri suspects that YouTube accounts with large followers in Indonesia are being targeted for hacking with the purpose of promoting the crypto world and the like.

Therefore, he suggested that the cyber team of law enforcement participate in observing the phenomenon of taking over YouTube accounts belonging to YouTube Indonesia. Including belonging to PKS TV for cyber security, so that the public also feels safe from irresponsible cyber crimes.

"The government can cooperate with YouTube and other OTP applications that operate in Indonesia to really protect verified official accounts so as not to become victims of cyber crimes," explained Mabruri. "If large accounts are easily taken over, then what about community-owned accounts. This should be a common concern," he added.
