Asked To Choose Puan Or Ganjar For The 2024 Presidential Election, The Secretary General Of PDIP Instead Of Praise Both

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said his party actually has many potential figures as leaders. He mentioned many names, including DPR Speaker Puan Maharani and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo.

"Yes, actually there are many names in the PDI-P. Because many ministers have also been promoted by the PDI-P, they are very well prepared," Hasto told reporters, January 3.

Hasto then praised Puan, whose name is often predicted to be a presidential candidate. He said, Puan's capacity has been tested internally and at the legislative and executive levels.

According to him, no one can deny Puan's ability to lead. "It has been tested internally by the party, the legislature," said Hasto.

Likewise Ganjar. Hasto said that his leadership in Central Java was also appreciated a lot.

"Mr. Ganjar as the regional head is also in the process of members of the legislature," he said.

Even if there are dynamics between the two names, PDIP insists it will not be disturbed. Hasto actually said that the emergence of the two names was due to public appreciation.

Moreover, the candidate who was promoted in the 2024 presidential election was conveyed by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. The time, continued Hasto, is still waiting for momentum.

"Regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidates, later in the right momentum, Megawati Soekarnoputri will announce. When is the time, which is certain to be 2023," he said.

For information, PDIP is the only party that meets the presidential threshold or the presidential nomination threshold of 20 percent. This means that this party can carry itself the presidential and vice presidential candidates without a coalition.

However, PDIP still has a meeting on which figures will be promoted in the 2024 presidential election. They also haven't talked much about the coalition because they still choose to support the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Even so, Ganjar Pranowo's electability has always been in the top three positions in various surveys. He competed with Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto and former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan who had been promoted by the NasDem Party.
