JAKARTA - The duty of firefighters is not only about extinguishing fires. Sometimes trivial or unreasonable things they must also handle.

And this is a story from the Depok City Fire and Rescue Service (Damkar) throughout 2022, as reported by the Depok City Government's official website, Monday, January 2.

They are not only tasked with extinguishing fires that burn buildings, but can also carry out other rescue actions.

First, Depok Damkar officers managed to evacuate a crocodile belonging to a resident in RT 05 RW 11, Mekarsari Village, Cimanggis District.

The wild animal has a load of 80 kilograms with a length of up to four meters. Depok firefighters were asked to evacuate this reptile because the owner was no longer able to take care of it.

The owner of a crocodile, who is a resident of Mekarsari Village, is worried that it could endanger the surrounding community because the crocodile size is getting bigger.

Then the second rescue, the Depok Damkar officers managed to get the baby trapped in the car. The child who was sleeping was abandoned by his mother shopping at a supermarket in front of The Caspia Cluster shop Azalea, Jatimulya Village, Cilodong District.

Third, officers managed to remove the ring that was stuck in the residents' fingers. During this year, the Depok Damkar officers managed to remove two rings in a number of different locations.

Among them are residents of Jalan Lieutenant Harta Sukirman RT 03 RW 02, Abadijaya Village, Sukmajaya District. Then residents of Jalan Kampung Pitara, Pancoran Mas Village, Pancoran Mas District.
