30 Families In Kupang Are Still Supporting The Impact Of Their Houses Being Badly Damaged Until They Are Carried Away By The Bandang Flood
NTT - Flash floods destroyed the house of 30 families (KK) in Naitiel Village, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). They are still displaced because their homes were severely affected by the disaster.
"There are still 30 families who have fled, because their houses were heavily damaged and swept away by flash floods that hit two villages in West Fatuleu District last week," said Head of the Kupang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Semi Tinenti, Kupang, NTT, Monday, January 2, confiscated by Antara.
He explained that the victims of the flash flood generally chose to stay in the family's house without being affected by the disaster that occurred on Thursday, December 29.
Semi said the Kupang Regency Government (Pemkab) had distributed food aid as well as sanitation and toddler equipment to flood victims in West Fatuleu.
The Kupang Pamkab, he said, had also established an emergency response status in handling flash floods from December 25, 2022 to January 7, 2023.
He added, in facilitating coordination with various parties related to BPBD Kupang Regency, it has opened a post for handling natural disasters as long as the area enters the rainy season.
Kupang as an area prone to floods, landslides, strong winds, said Semi, through the Regency Government has also encouraged every party involved in being prepared for natural disasters during the rainy season.
Meanwhile, the Head of the NTT BPBD Implementing Agency, Ambrosius Kodo, appreciated the Kupang Pamkab who was involved in handling the natural disaster that hit the area since December 25, 2022.
"We appreciate the Kupang Regency Government for being quick in handling natural disasters, so that residents affected by the disaster can be handled properly and appropriately," said Ambrosius.
