National Police Chief Listyo Sigit: Tens Of Thousands Of Cases Of Child Violence OCCUR In 2022, One Of Which Is A Case Of Kidney Failure

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said 11,012 cases of violence against children were reported during 2022. One of them was an acute kidney failure case.

"What concerns us is that the most reported types of PPA crimes are violence against children of 11,012 cases," said Sigit in his presentation on the End of the Year Release, Saturday, December 31.

The case of acute kidney failure in children is one of the cases that has received great attention. Because 169 children died.

Thus, law enforcement steps are immediately taken. As a result, five companies were named as suspects in the case.

"We immediately took steps to cooperate with relevant stakeholders. Currently, we have examined 12 witnesses, 4 experts and named 5 companies as suspects," he said.

The five companies include PT Afi Farma, PT Tirta Buana Kemindo, CV Anugrah Perdana Gemilang, CV Samudera Chemical, and PT Fari Jaya Pratama.

On the other hand, overall crimes against women and children have decreased by 2,058 cases during 2022. However, the disclosure has increased.

"For the settlement of the number of cases, there has been an increase of 549 cases, an increase of 3.4 percent compared to 2021," said Sigit.
