England Must There Are Negative COVID-19 Results For Passengers From China
JAKARTA - Airplane passengers from China to the UK need to show a negative result of coronavirus tests before they depart, the UK Department of Health and Social Services said.
"Para penumpang dari China ke Inggris mulai 5 Januari sebelum berangkat perlu menunjukkan hasil negatif tes COVID-19, yang dijalani tidak lebih dari dua hari menjelang keberangan," kata department tersebut melalui pernyataan, dikutip dari Antara, Sabtu 31 Desember.
The Ministry of Health also said it was trying to ensure that the rules were implemented as soon as possible in the United Kingdom even though there were no direct flights from China to Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland.
According to the statement, samples of people arriving in the UK from China will be examined for COVID-19 to monitor new variants.
"The UK Health Agency is conducting surveillance starting Sunday January 8, taking samples of passengers arriving in the UK from mainland China to be tested for COVID upon arrival," the Depkes said.
Earlier on Friday, France announced that starting January 1, all aircraft passengers arriving from China would be required to submit a negative COVID test result.
Passengers will also be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival in France.
According to Clement Beaune, the French minister who specializes in handling transportation, the obligation to wear masks will be imposed on all flights from China.
On Wednesday December 28, the United States Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) said starting January 5, travelers from China would be required to show a negative COVID-19 test result before entering the US.
