Samuel Sekuritas Analysts Predicting Rupiah Exchange Values Are At The Level Of Rp. 15,650-Rp. 15,750 Per US Dollar Ahead Of The Substitution Of The Year
JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate (exchange rate) transacted between banks in Jakarta ahead of the turn of 2022 to 2023 is predicted to move stable.
This morning's rupiah strengthened 16 points or 0.1 percent to IDR 15,642 per US dollar compared to the position at the close of the previous trade of IDR 15,658 per US dollar.
"We estimate that the rupiah will move stably today in the range of Rp. 15,650-Rp. 15,750 per US dollar," said Macro Equity Strategic Samuel Sekuritas Lionel Priyadi in his study quoted by Antara, Friday, December 30.
Lionel said the global market experienced a strong rebound last night along with the release of US initial jobless claims (US) which rose to 225 thousand claims, according to the consensus for the week ending December 24 from 216 thousand in the previous week.
Continuing workless claims data also increased beyond expectations to 1.71 million claims for the week ended December 17 from 1.67 million claims the previous week.
The Nasdaq index rose 2.6 percent which was followed by the S&P 500 Index increased 1.7 percent and the Dow Jones Index rose 1 percent. Meanwhile, stock indexes in Europe rose one percent.
The buying action also occurred in the stock market, which was reflected in the decline in yields of 10-year US Government bonds to 3.81 percent.
Meanwhile, the S&P and Goldman Sachs commodity index fell 0.4 percent due to the decline in the price of Brent and WTI crude oil.
On Thursday, December 29, the rupiah strengthened 61 points or 0.39 percent to IDR 15,658 per US dollar compared to the position at the close of the previous trade of IDR 15,719 per US dollar.
