Contract Ends, All IKON Members Leave YG Entertainment

JAKARTA - Shocking news came from the iKON group. They declared their exit from the YG Entertainment agency after their exclusive contract ended.

This statement was released by the agency today, Friday, December 30. They said the six group members did not continue their contracts with YG Entertainment.

"After a long discussion with iKON members (Kim Jinhwan, Bobby, Song Yunhyeong, Goo Junhoe, Kim Donghyuk, and Jung Chanwoo) regarding future activities, respecting each other's opinions, we agreed to terminate an exclusive contract," said YG Entertainment.

Six iKON members will continue their activities as iKON and they will continue to communicate with iKON fans, iCONIC through their social media including Weverse community services as they are now," the agency continued.

YG Entertainment thanks iKON who has been with YG Entertainment since the beginning of their debut. In the future, they will continue to support the steps of iKON members in the future.

"We also want to thank iKONIC who are always together on iKON's journey. We ask for support from members who will start new steps," concluded YG Entertainment.

iKON debuted with YG Entertainment in 2015 as a group of seven members. Then in 2019, BI left iKON and the agency after being involved in an alleged marijuana use case.

Last November, Bobby reportedly did not continue his contract with YG Entertainment. However, this news was denied by the agency.

Together with YG Entertainment, iKON released various hits that also catapulted their names, one of which was Love Scenario who successfully occupied the Korean and international music charts.
