Pay Attention To Personal Goods During The Travel, There Are 11 Bases Left On The Train During Christmas And New Year Holidays
JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunnisa revealed that currently there are 11 luggage of travelers using long-distance trains (KAJJ) during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.
The data on items left behind has increased compared to the previous period, along with the volume of passengers departing by train from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen which has increased.
"During the Naru period which has been running for 5 days from 22 to 26 December 2022, there were 11 items left behind that were successfully secured by officers and have been inputted into the lost and found system database," Eva said in her statement, Wednesday, December 28.
Of the number of items left behind, 7 of them have returned to the owner. The items left behind that are often the types of valuables such as laptops, cell phones, bags, wallets to foreigners' passports.
If KAJJ passengers feel they have lost their goods or are left on the train or in the station environment, Eva said, they can immediately report to the train officer who is serving, the security officer at the station, or can go through the KAI 121 contact center.
"The station security officers always carry out regular checks in the waiting room areas and above the train, especially when the train arrives at the final destination station, the officers will check in each series to ensure that no passenger's belongings are left behind," said Eva.
When reports of lost or left behind goods occur, KAI officers will coordinate and search, if they can be found at that time, they will immediately be handed back to the complainant.
If the goods cannot be found, a telephone confirmation will be made to the complainant regarding the progress of handling the lagging goods reported. Then, if found, for the process of handing over the customer, it is mandatory to show an identity card for verification of the ownership of the goods.
"Daop 1 Jakarta appeals to train customers to always pay attention to luggage when traveling, both in the station environment and during train trips," he said.
