Investment Alert Task Force Find 80 Pinjol And 9 Unlicensed Pegadaian In December 2022
JAKARTA - The Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) has again found nine entities that offer illegal investments, 80 illegal online loans that have the potential to harm the public, as well as nine private pawnshops operating without permits throughout December 2022.
Chairman of SWI Tongam L. Tobing said that the handling of the illegal investment entity was carried out prior to complaints from victims. Information about this was obtained from monitoring activities that are currently rife in the community through social media, websites and Youtube (data crawling) through the investment alert application big data center.
"SWI is always here to protect the public from activities and activities of illegal investment offers and fraud under the guise of investment," Tongam said in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, December 28.
Nine entities that offer unlicensed investment and have been stopped by SWI are 4 entities conducting investment offers without a license, 2 entities conducting financing and funding without a permit, 1 entity carrying out property agent activities without a permit, 1 entity carrying out crypto asset activities without a permit and 1 entity trading digital assets without a permit.
"Eradication of illegal investment is very dependent on the participation of the community. As long as the community is still tempted by high interest offers regardless of legality and fairness, the perpetrators will continue to emerge with new modes," he said.
In addition, responding to some information circulating in the public about the SWI ban on victims of illegal investments withdrawing their funds, Tongam said SWI had never banned it.
"Every entity whose activities are stopped by the Investment Alert Task Force is ordered to return public losses. Do not easily believe the reasons made by illegal investment actors. If the perpetrator complicates the withdrawal of funds, immediately report them to the police," he said.
