Target 20 Percent Of The Vote In The 2024 Legislative Election, BRIN Advises Golkar To Complete Evaluation
JAKARTA - The Golkar Party is targeting 20 percent of the vote acquisition in the 2024 Legislative General Election (Pileg). According to the political researcher of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Siti Zuhro, the target is possible to achieve it even though it is not easy.
"What is clear in politics is that nothing is impossible," said Siti Zuharo in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 27.
However, Zuhar suggested, Golkar needs to conduct a complete evaluation to determine whether the 20 percent target in the 2024 Pileg can be achieved or not.
Evaluation, he said, could begin with referring to the acquisition of Golkar votes in the 2019 Pileg. At that time, the General Elections Commission (KPU) stated that the party bearing the banyan symbol received 12.31 percent of the vote.
"Second, the quality of the candidates offered. Third, the interesting programs offered by Golkar. Fourth, the party is in a solid and promising (promising) state for the community. And, fifth, legislative candidates must be liked by voters," he explained.
Then, continued Zuhro, only then could Golkar project the vote acquisition in the 2024 Pileg compared to the 2019 Pileg. "The question is, was it after 5 years that Golkar's vote was able to jump to 20 percent?" Zuhro said.
Zuhro assessed that as long as the party's internal solidity is maintained, Golkar will not encounter major obstacles that could disrupt political work to achieve this target.
"In principle, as long as the party does not experience conflicts or divisions and unlawful acts such as corruption cases, it can be predicted that in the future it will not invite problems," he said.
However, according to Zuhar, the validity of political parties in determining targets is useful for pumping the spirit and performance of the party's political machines.
"The party is fine to set a high number of achievements in the 2024 election. This is necessary to encourage and motivate or encourage party administrators and cadres to work harder to reach 20 percent of the votes," he concluded.
Previously, the Secretary General of the Golkar Party DPP Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus said the 2024 Pilleg target was 20 percent. Meanwhile, for the 60 percent Pilkada, considering that in the 2020 Pilkada it won more than 61 percent. Meanwhile, the presidential election is winning. The target was expressed by Lodewijk when officially opening the Regional Leadership Meeting (Rapimda) II of the North Sumatra Golkar Party's Regional Representative Council (DPD) at the Santika Premiere Hotel Dyandra Medan, Thursday, December 22.
"Our target is at least winning, because in the presidential election there are no first or second place winners and losers," said Lodewijk.
