Rob Floods On Sodong Beach Cilacap 15 Centimeters High, Hazards For Tourists And Local Residents
The high waves and the maximum tide that occurred in the last few days caused coastal flooding or tidal waves on Sodong Beach, so that a number of stalls and public facilities were damaged.
In fact, the coastal flood had entered settlements in Congot Hamlet, Karangbenda Village, Adipala District, Cilacap, with water levels ranging from 5-15 centimeters.
Acting Cilacap Regent Yunita Dyah Suminar said there needed to be serious handling to anticipate the impact of coastal flooding or tidal waves that often hit Sodong Beach, Karangbenda Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java.
While reviewing the impact of coastal flooding on Sodong Beach, Karangbenda Village, Adipala District, together with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (forkompimda) Cilacap Regency, Monday afternoon, December 26, the Regent received information that in one month the area could experience two high waves accompanied by high tides.
"The water level can reach 5 centimeters so that it enters settlements," Yunita said as quoted by Antara, Monday, December 26.
Because Sodong Beach is also a tourist spot, he said, this condition is quite dangerous.
In this regard, he said that his party together with Forkompimda would make efforts so that when high waves and maximum tides occur, sea water does not enter settlements, especially tourist areas.
"Earlier, information from the DPSDA (Air Resources Management Service) that a budget of Rp600 billion has been proposed, but it has been approved for Rp100 billion, one of which is to (build) wave breakers," he said.
He admitted that on Sodong Beach there was actually a kind of embankment that served to withstand the waves.
However, when it is not strong enough to withstand waves, he said, sea water will still enter tourist areas to settlements.
"Therefore, if it is not handled fundamentally, it will not be finished," said the woman who is familiarly called Ninit.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Cilacap Regency DPRD, Taufik Nurhidayat, said that the handling of Sodong Beach is under the authority of the Serayu Opak River Basin Center (BBWSSO) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.
According to him, the PSDA Service will design which points must be handled.
"It was previously proposed that Rp600 billion, down Rp100 billion. It is hoped that not only will it come to be built, but the design, please don't just hold back the waves, also break the waves," he said.
If it's a wave solver, he said, the waves that come can be minimized, so it's just a small wave.
The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cilacap Regency, Wijonardi, said the proposed budget of Rp600 billion was planned to be used by BBWSSO to build wave-breaking embankments at a number of points, starting from Area 70 at Turtle Bay Beach to Jetis Beach.
"That's the DED (Detail Engineering Design) already exists," he said.
