Very Motivated To Become A World Champion For The Third River, Anthony Joshua: I Will Against Anyone Who Is Ready
JAKARTA British boxer Anthony Joshua is very motivated to become world champion for the third time. He is also ready to face anyone next year.
The 33-year-old fighter has mentioned several names he is likely to face in 2023 for his first game after losing to Oleksandr Usyk in August.
"I like to see my name constantly mentioned among other fighters. Opportunities are always there for me, there is a great opportunity to fight," he said.
In June 2019, Joshua lost his IBF world title, IBO, WBA, WBO after he was defeated by Andy Ruiz. Six months later, he reclaimed his belt with a score decision in a duel of twelve rounds.
Then in 2021, he lost his four belts for the second time when he was beaten by Usyk. The belts failed to be reclaimed in a 12-round rematch against Usyk in August this year.
Joshua's next fight is targeted to occur in the nearest March. Joshua is currently preparing to find a new head coach after parting ways with veteran coach Robert Garcia.
"I will fight whoever is ready. I want to be consistent, fit to fight, and everyone comes from behind. I am ready to win the world, 100 percent. That is the goal of my heart and soul," he said.
Currently some of the top fighters have been on the list of favorites against Joshua in 2023. Deontay Wilder, Otto Wallin, Dillian Whyte, and Filip Hrgovic are the names that have come out to the public.
"I've always been a competitor. The challenge for me is only another obstacle I can overcome. This will work, because in that race I'm used to being in that competitive mindset, but I will definitely overcome it," he said.
Joshua actually fought Tyson Fury after the defeat against Usyk. However, the duel was canceled because the hero of the 2012 London Olympics did not sign an agreement according to Fury's deadline.
