Denying The News Of The Kemayoran Athlete's Wisma Stopped Handling COVID-19 After December 31, 2022, Task Force: Still Functioning 1 Tower
There have been reports that the operation of the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet Kemayoran will be stopped for treatment and isolation of COVID-19 patients after December 31, 2022.However, this was denied by the Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) Wiku Adisasmito. Wiku revealed that the operation of the Athlete's House for handling COVID-19 was not fully closed.Wiku explained, there is still one tower that functions. Although currently COVID-19 cases have decreased, the increase in corona cases still has the potential to occur after the 2022 Christmas Day and 2023 New Year holidays."The COVID-19 Task Force is still functioning 1 RSDC tower with a capacity of 1651 beds for preparedness in handling COVID in the future," Wiku told VOI, Friday, December 23.When there was a spike in COVID-19 cases some time ago, the government used 6 Wisma Atlet towers to treat patients undergoing isolation. Now, all provinces in Indonesia have implemented PPKM Level 1 because COVID-19 cases are sloping. Thus, the number of COVID-19 isolation beds at Wisma Atlet is also reduced."In line with the sloping number of COVID-19 cases, there is a gradual adjustment to the number of facilities in 2022," said Wiku. For information, the operational news that the Kemayoran Athlete's Wisma was stopped began with a circular of a letter signed by the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto. The letter numbered B-404.N/KA BNPB/PD.01.02/11/2022 dated November 30, 2022, was addressed to the Commander of the Jayakarta Kodam Maj. Gen. TNI Untung Budiharjo. In the letter, Suharyanto revealed that the Wisma Atlet RSDC will be stopped as of December 31, 2022, because it considers the number of beds for isolation patients significantly as COVID-19 cases decline.
