Overcome Christmas And New Year's Holidays, PHRI Gunungkidul Makes SURE Hotels And Restaurants Are Prepared So That Tourists Don't Get Sickled

The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, has prepared hotel and restaurant facilities to welcome tourists on the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.

The chairman of the PHRI Gunungkidul Sunyoto said that the preparation was specifically to ensure the condition of hotel and restaurant facilities for tourists so they wouldn't give them a visit to Gunungkidul.

"We ensure cleanliness to make improvements so that they are suitable for use later," said Sunyoto, quoted by Antara from Gunungkidul, Sunday, December 18.

He said this preparation was often made, especially when welcoming the long holiday period, especially ensuring that the supply of food raw materials was sufficient until the holiday period was over. This step was taken in anticipation.

Currently, he said, demand for basic commodities has increased significantly so that the price has also automatically jumped. To anticipate that there are no stocks in the market, value tourism actors meet the supply of basic necessities.

"For that, we are preparing from now on, so as not to have trouble during holidays," he said.

Sunyoto said that at this time, there was no increase in orders from tourists, both for lodging and restaurants in Gunungkidul.

However, he remains optimistic that the visit will increase significantly when entering the holidays. Including accommodation bookings.

"We predict bookings from the 20s. Currently it is still sloping," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Gunungkidul Tourism Office, Mohamad Arif Aldian, said that during the 2022 Christmas and New Year 2023 holidays, his party is targeting the arrival of 148,305 tourists.

To achieve this target, Arif stated that his party had coordinated with tourism actors. In addition, several destinations are also preparing activities during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"We are trying to promote through social media the potential for tourism in Gunungkidul so that the wider community is better known," said Arif.
