When A Prisoner Becomes A Sabu Merchant, Cilegon Prison Is Not Something That Describes Narcotics Bandar
CILEGON The Cilegon Police Narcotics Unit together with the Serang Regency Narcotics Unit and the Class II A Cilegon Prison conducted a joint investigation into the news of the circulation of methamphetamine in the prison.
Cilegon Police Chief AKBP Eko Tjahyo Untoro explained that his party received news that there was an inmate (narapidana) at the Class II A Cilegon Prison who circulated crystal methamphetamine in prison. On that basis, his party immediately conducted an investigation to reveal this fact.
"The arrest incident occurred on Monday afternoon (December 5) in the toilet in the parking area of the Cilegon Class II A motorcycle," Eko said in a written statement, Tuesday, December 13.
Eko explained, from information obtained by officers about drug networks in Cilegon Prison, the Cilegon Police Narcotics Unit together with the Serang Regency Narcotics Unit and the Class II A prison in Cilegon conducted a joint investigation of inmates suspected of being couriers of methamphetamine into the Cilegon prison.
From the results of the investigation, it is known that there are three dealers who smuggle drugs into prisons for sale.
"Then the joint team managed to secure 3 men with the initials EA (30), a resident of Margaluyu Village, Cimarga District, Lebak Regency, AM (25) a resident of Perum Banten Indah Permai block G15 number 09, Unyur Village, Serang District, Serang City, RM (23) a resident of Serang City", he explained.
Eko explained that the three men were questioned and interrogated by officers at the prison entrance.
"Right in front of the prison entrance, the joint team interrogated EA perpetrators. Then, EA admitted that he was carrying a package of methamphetamine stored in the anus. After being examined, it was found that a package of black duct tape was integer shape which contained 2 clear plastic packages containing methamphetamine. After being followed up, the collected evidence was in the form of methamphetamine weighing 9.67 grams in one package, one package of methamphetamine weighing 4.74 grams, and 3 cellphones," explained Eko. The perpetrator is suspected of Article 132 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 114 Paragraph (2) and or Article 112 Paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum imprisonment of 5 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
