BNNK Pangkalpinang Gandeng Education Office Applications Anti-Drug Curriculum In Elementary Schools And Junior High Schools

BABEL - Pangkalpinang National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) inserts anti-drug education in school subjects. According to the Head of BNNK Pangkalpinang AKBP Noer Wisnanto, this is a new innovation for the world of education.

"We are targeting that anti-drug education, which is integrated into several subjects in this school, can be implemented next year," he said in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel), Monday, December 12, as reported by Antara.

Noer explained, in the implementation of this curriculum anti-drug learning material will be included in several subjects in elementary schools (SD) and junior high schools (SMP) so that students are aware of the dangers of narcotics abuse.

With the understanding of the dangers of circulation and misuse of illicit goods, it is hoped that in the future the younger generation in the area can anticipate what starts with each other.

"We have given the concept of the learning module to the Pangkalpinang City Education Office and then the Mayor of Pangkalpinang supports by issuing mayoral regulations to support the implementation of the curriculum," he said.

As a first step, said Wisnanto, the application of anti-drug learning will involve several schools that serve as pilot.

"We have prepared an elementary school and a junior high school for the initial application of the anti-drug curriculum," he said.

He hopes that the implementation of the anti-drug curriculum can save the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics trafficking and abuse, both in terms of law and self-health.

"Hopefully the anti-drug curriculum can be agreed upon and immediately socialized to schools in Pangkalpinang City, so that our students are aware of the dangers of drugs," he said.

In 2021, the Governor of Babel has initiated the issuance of an anti-drug education principle that is integrated into the education curriculum at TSMA/SMK as stated in Governor Regulation Number 55 of 2021 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Drugs.

The governor's regulation is a derivative of Presidential Instruction No. 2 of 2020 in the context of Strengthening, Prevention, and Eradication of the Abuse and Dark Circulation of Narcotics and Precursors of Narcotics (P4GN) at 73 ministries and institutions, including local governments.

The Silabus that has been prepared by the Babel Provincial Government has received appreciation from the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency because it contains various materials to make children aware at school about the dangers of narcotics and how to implement them.

The Babel Provincial Government integrates anti-drug education in several lessons, including PKN, physical and sports, religion, chemistry, and biology.
