Deputy Chairperson Of The KPK Calls Bareskrim Handi Tindak Pidana AKBP Bambang Kayun
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police handled a general crime (pidum) against AKBP Bambang Kayun Bagus PS.
"If I'm not mistaken at the National Police Headquarters, he spreads the sentence, it's a general crime. If I'm not mistaken, yes, yesterday it was right (coordination) to convey it. So, it's not corruption," said KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 11.
Previously, the KPK and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police had coordinated to discuss further the handling of the Bambang case.
The KPK has named Bambang and the private sector as suspects in the alleged bribery and gratification case related to falsification of letters in the case of the seizure of the rights of the heirs of PT Aria Citra Mulia (ACM).
"Yesterday we just coordinated with Bareskrim. So, an investigation has been carried out by the KPK. So, if there is a similar investigation warrant regarding the person concerned, Bareskrim then submits it to the KPK, both recipients and bribe givers," said Alex.
In addition, he also explained that there are provisions when it comes to two criminal acts, the priority of which is the criminal act of corruption.
"There are provisions when it comes to two criminal acts, the first is the criminal act of corruption so that the person concerned is not tried many times. In principle, there is already an understanding that Bambang Kayun is being handled by the KPK," he said.
In that case, Bambang allegedly received billions of rupiah and luxury vehicles.
The KPK will officially convey the identities of the parties named as suspects, the chronology of alleged criminal acts, and the articles that are suspected after the investigation are declared sufficient.
For his determination as a suspect, Bambang has also submitted a pretrial application at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). Currently, Bambang's pretrial trial is still ongoing.
Responding to the pretrial, the KPK emphasized that it has sufficient evidence in determining Bambang as a suspect.
