Future Not Paste, Luis Enrique Wants To Keep Spain After The Matador Team Was Beatn By The Atlat Lion

Luis Enrique said he wanted to remain coach of the Spanish national team even though his team was eliminated by Morocco in the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup on penalties on Wednesday morning WIB.

La Furia Roja lost 0-3 in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw with the North African team for 120 minutes.

However, Enrique said that his position as coach of Spain was still uncertain after being eliminated from the competition.

"I can't say it, because I don't know," Luis Enrique told a news conference after the match.

"The national team has time. I am very happy with the Spanish Football Federation (FA), the president and with (the director of sports)."

"If it was up to me, then I would have continued to survive my entire life, but that's not the problem," said the former Barcelona coach.

"I have to think calmly what is best for me and for the national team. All situations will have an effect."

Enrique was first appointed in 2018 after the Spanish national team was eliminated in the last 16 of the 2018 World Cup in Russia by the home team.

He had stepped down from his position in 2019 because he wanted to spend time with his family after his late daughter was diagnosed with bone cancer.

His position was filled by his assistant Robert Moreno, but Enrique returned to training Spain and guiding his team to the semifinals of the 2020 European Cup (Euro). However, they were eliminated by Italy, who won, on penalties.
