Reported By Residents, Firefighters Fired And Burned Only Piles Of Waste

JAKARTA - A puff of black smoke soared high in the air in the Cakung area, East Jakarta, Monday, December 5, morning. Residents reported the emergence of thick smoke to the Cakung Damkar Post for extinguishing.

After checking the location by officers from the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., officers immediately extinguished the fire. By deploying 1 fire engine, officers extinguished the empty land of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Block F, RT 06/05, Jatinegara Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta.

However, when officers arrived at the location, the object that caught fire was not a building or residential area.

"The object that caught fire was just piles of garbage," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman, Monday, December 5.

Until now, the fire extinguishing process has been completed by 5 East Jakarta Gulkarmat officers.

"The situation is not dangerous," he said.
