Starting From Intelligence To Education, The TNI Commander, Please Cooperate With Australia, Getting More And More Stringent

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa hopes that cooperation between Indonesia and Australia will continue to develop, especially in the fields of intelligence, logistics, personnel, and education.

"We (Indonesia and Australia) have done great things this year, but we have to make better things next year," Andika said while attending the High Level Committee (HLC) with the Australian Defense Force at Perth, Australia, as reported by Antara, Sunday 4 December.

Andika also hopes that the increase in cooperation can provide great benefits for both countries. The HLC meeting will continue with various partner countries in the Asia Pacific region.

"We are here, at this point, because we have done many things. In the last four years, also my three years in the Army, I think we have started a lot," added Andika.

In line with Andika, Australian Chief of Defense Force General Angus Campbell also hopes that the cooperation between Indonesia and Australia will be closer.

"It's about various opportunities to improve complexity, scale up to achieve the various developments we've made," Campbell said.

Campbell said various joint exercises involving Indonesia and Australia could become more connected, more developed, and more complex.

"We talked about the idea of joint maritime operations control, with Albatros Ausindo Training, Wirajaya Training, and Garuda Shield," Campbell explained.

HLC is a bilateral meeting forum for the leadership of the armed forces. Andika also participated in the HLC which was held some time ago with various friendly countries.

The agreement between Indonesia and Australia to continue to increase cooperation became a major topic of the meeting.
