Madiun Youth Prison Thwarts Meth Smuggling Concealed in Anus

MADIUN - Officers from the Class II A Youth Penitentiary in Madiun, East Java, thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine-type narcotics into a local prison where visitors hid them in their anus.

Head of Madiun Youth Head Ardian Nova Christiawan said officers discovered the smuggling on Thursday, December 1 while checking a visitor with the initials T (46), a resident of Bangkalan, Madura. T plans to visit his younger brother S (39) who is currently in prison at the local prison.

"When entering the Main Door Guard (P2U) room, the officers searched the visitor's body and found something protruding in the man's rectum. So the officers asked the man to take off his pants, but refused", said Madiun Youth Head, Ardian Nova, reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 2.

There was resistance when the officer wanted to examine the anal area in question. Finally, the body search officer contacted the Visit Service Coordinator and P2U officers.

When examined more closely, it turned out to be true, there were three packs of methamphetamine and 10 Inex pills neatly wrapped using a condom and hidden in his anus.

"So we urge the suspect to remove the illicit goods he is hiding right away", he said.

Together with the Satreskoba Polres Madiun Kota who came to the location, the Madiun Youth Lapas officer then conducted an examination and interrogation of the person concerned.

During the examination, there were four packets of drugs hidden in the perpetrator's anus. Namely, three packages suspected of being of the methamphetamine type weighing 8.82 grams, 9.90 grams, and 9.90 grams, and one other package containing 10 pills suspected of being of the Inex type.

Nova explained, T initially wanted to visit his younger sibling S, a resident of the Madiun Youth Prison. It has also been clarified to S.

"Currently we have placed S in the straight cell until the investigation process is complete", he said.

Nova emphasized that his party is always committed to eradicating illicit drug trafficking. For this reason, the Madiun Youth Lapas completely handed over the process of investigating the suspect to the Madiun City Police.

"We fully leave it to the police as the authorized investigator. If anything is needed, we are ready to work together to solve this case", he said.

Previously, the Madiun Youth Prison officers also thwarted attempts to smuggle methamphetamine into the prison through various methods from visitors. Like being hidden in the chicken soup last August, hidden in geprek chicken food in October, and hidden in underpants last November.
