Hope That The Indonesian National Team Will Be Presidential In The U-20 World Cup, Menpora Sindir Qatar's Achievement
JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali hopes that the Indonesian team can talk a lot at the 2023 U-20 World Cup. He did not want Indonesia to be branded as qualified only as the host.
As is known, the 2023 U-20 World Cup will be held in Indonesia. As the host, the public hopes that Shin Tae-yong's squad will not just be a joy.
Menpora does not want Indonesia to have the same fate as Qatar, which will host the 2022 World Cup. Qatar finally failed to advance to the last 16 after three defeats.
"We all hope that our national team will qualify, not only because it is the host. But he passed because of his achievements, we see how Qatar prepares as well as possible, finally he passes as the host," said the Minister of Youth and Sports as held from the ministry's official website, Friday, December 2.
Menpora is also quite optimistic. The reason is, he received a satisfactory report from coach Shin Tae-yong regarding the condition of the Indonesian U-20 players.
"Coach Shin Tae-yong said that these children (the national team players) have extraordinary progress. Their physical resistance is also getting better, endurance is getting better, the team's cooperation is also getting better," said the man from Gorontalo.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports ensured that Indonesia was ready to host the U-20 World Cup which will take place in May 2023. All stadiums that are the venue for the match are ready to be used.
Even though there are still renovations or repairs, the Menpora ensures that it is only a minor renovation.
