Jokowi Concerning The Global Economic Crisis: All Heads Of State Disrupted, Indonesia Not

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said that Indonesia held the 2024 General Election when global economic conditions were predicted to experience a crisis. Various countries in the world have started to apply for financial assistance to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This was conveyed by Jokowi's National Consolidation Meeting on Preparedness for the Implementation of Simultaneous Elections held by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

"Currently 14 countries have entered as IMF patients to be assisted. 20 countries are queuing again at the IMF's door to ask for help and 66 countries are vulnerable to join in line again," said Jokowi in Ancol, North Jakarta, Friday, December 2.

Ahead of the 2024 General Election, this economic crisis began to be felt after various problems emerged. Starting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the war between Russia and Ukraine, geopolitical tensions, to the emergence of a food and financial crisis.

However, according to Jokowi, Indonesia may not feel the crisis. Because, based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2022 grew by 5.72 percent.

"Currently, the world is difficult. All heads of state have their heads dizzy. Indonesia is not, we should be grateful, we are in a good position, at the G20 yesterday we included growth and our economic growth including the best because 5.72 percent," said Jokowi.

However, Jokowi asked for this condition to be watched out for, especially election organizers. Jokowi emphasized that they should not make wrong electoral policies, thus having an impact on difficulties along with the world economic crisis.

"We hold the 2024 election in a global economic condition that is shrouded in confusion, difficulties. uncertainty. We must have the same feelings about this," said Jokowi.

"The KPU must work efficiently, take advantage of its budget, regulate the priority times that must be done," he added.
