Expenditures For Domestic Products Give A Double Effect To The Economy, Jokowi Asks Banks To Enliven Potential
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara emphasized that policy reforms carried out during the pandemic were aimed at finding new sources of growth (the new source of growth) for Indonesia.
According to him, one that is currently being encouraged is the optimization of the use of domestic products in order to strengthen the structure of the domestic economy. Suahasil explained that the banking sector could participate in the success of this agenda through business orientation being carried out.
"I want companies that produce domestic products to be given faster and more credit," he said while speaking at the Wealth Wisdom 2022 forum Permata Bank x Katadata with the theme Economic Outlook 2023, Tuesday, November 29.
He also quoted President Joko Widodo's statement that trade must be able to increase the level of domestic components (TKDN), and all parties can contribute to efforts to encourage the use of national products.
"We have calculated, in the APBN and APBD there is a potential for domestic product spending of IDR 747 trillion. If this is carried out, it can create a multiplier effect for the economy," he said.
For this reason, he asked national banks to translate the direction of this policy within the framework of business activities to support new sources of economic growth programs.
"This will make Indonesia very strong," he stressed.
Meanwhile, two other new sources of growth revealed by Suahasil are downstream natural resources and business orientation in the green economy.
