KAKARTA - Morocco's young player, Zakaria Aboukhlal, became a conversation after helping his team win 2-0 over Belgium at the 2022 World Cup Qatar. His good performance in the match which took place at Al Thumama Stadium, Sunday, November 27, received praise.
However, praise did not only come thanks to the slick performance on the field, but also Aboukhlal's personality off the field.
Alboukhlal is touted as a devout figure. His ability when reading the Qur'an also deserves thumbs up.
That's what makes the 22-year-old player often appointed as a prayer priest at the mosque, as quoted by The Guardian, Monday, November 28.
It was also reinforced by several photos and videos that went viral on social media after Morocco's victory over Belgium. The photos and videos show how the Toulouse FC player is off the pitch.
There are a number of photos showing the moment where Alboukhlal becomes a priest while praying. In another video, you can see how melodious the player's voice is when singing the holy verse.
"Al Balad's letter was read by Morocco's Zakaria Aboukhlal," wrote the @islamculturel account completing an upload showing Alboukhlal's activities at a mosque.
The upload on social media made many people praise Alboukhlal personally. They claim to salute young people who have achievements in the field but also obey worship.

In the match against Belgium on the second matchday of Group F, Sunday 27 November, Morocco won with a score of 2-0. The victory could not be separated from Abdelhamid Sa Castra's goal which was followed by Aboukhlal's execution during injury time.
Aboukhlal successfully listed his name on the scoreboard, after snatching a cross pass from Hakim Ziyech from the right side of Belgium.
