Arrest 3 People, East OKU Police Sita 51 Kosmetics Without A BPOM Permit

OKU - Polres Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Timur, South Sumatra dismantled the illegal cosmetic trade that did not meet health standards from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).East OKU Police Chief, AKBP Nuryono accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Hamsal said, from the results of the arrest, three perpetrators were arrested, RB (36), RK (28) a resident of Kampung II, Serinanti Village, Pedamaran District and HS (43) a resident of Sugih Waras Village, Teluk Gelam District, OKI Regency.The three suspects were arrested by members of the Special Criminal Unit (Pidsus) of the East OKU Police Criminal Investigation Unit at the Suka Negeri Village Market, West Semendawa District, East OKU Regency last Saturday at around 08.30 WIB."We arrested the perpetrators while selling various illegal cosmetics in the Kayangan Market area, Suka Negeri Village," he said in Martapura, Antara, Tuesday, November 22.From the hands of the police suspect confiscated evidence as many as 51 cosmetic brands containing dangerous substances. The evidence confiscated from the perpetrators included 21 boxes of cream brand Temuwak New Beauty Whitening, 20 boxes of cream brand VV Whitening Extra Ginseng and 25 boxes of cream brand Daimond Cream Whitening.Then, 25 boxes of cream brand SP Special Uv Whitening, 17 boxes of bleached cream brand AAA 1 original bleach doctor, 16 boxes of cream brand super Dr quality gold and 13 boxes of cream brand rose white and natural cream."All the cosmetics that have been secured are well-known brands, but are suspected of containing harmful substances for the human body and are not labeled as BPOM RI," he said.For his actions, the suspect will be charged with Law (UU) Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health and or Article 197 in conjunction with Article 106 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health as amended in Article 107 in conjunction with Article 106 paragraph (1), and paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation."The suspect is subject to Article 196 paragraph 2 with a penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 billion," he said.
