Roads In Batanghari Jambi Improved, Police Stop Coal Transportation Activities

JAKARTA - Road repairs were carried out again in Jambi. This time the repairs were carried out in Batanghari Regency, resulting in the cessation of coal transportation traffic activities.

Director of Traffic of the Jambi Police, Police Commissioner Dhafi, said the decision to temporarily suspend coal activities had not yet been determined.

"All coal transportation can only wait in the mouth of the mine until the time has not been determined until the road repairs are completed," he said in Jambi, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 22.

Dhafi said the policy had taken effect since Monday, November 21 night. In this case, his party has also made efforts to regulate coal transportation that is still hanging on the road or has come out of the mouth of the mine.

"Last night we straightened out what was hanging on the road," he said.

In this regard, the Jambi Police have appealed to coal and transporter mining business license owners (IUP) in the Tebo area.

Dhafi said coal transportation is still waiting in the mouth of the mine and is not allowed to come out until further information from the Directorate of Traffic of the Jambi Police and the Tebo Police Satlantas.

Meanwhile, Dhafi explained that the congestion that occurred in Batanghari was purely due to road damage which was getting worse.

He said that the Batanghari Police Traffic Unit has been managing congestion for the past few days maximally, even his party has independently repaired the road by borrowing heavy equipment from the PUPR Service and stockpiling potholes.

"Our personnel have worked hand in hand to arrange for traffic jams," he explained.

Previously, on Monday 21 November, traffic jams occurred along the road from Durianluncuk-Muaratembesi and from the direction of Mersam-Muaratembesi. Vehicles from the direction of Sarolangun and from the direction of Tebo piled up at the Km 5 Muaratembesi intersection. Traffic congestion is also monitored along the Muarotembesi-Muarabulian section.
