BMKG Predicts Rain In North Sumatra, Yogyakarta And Central Java Today
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts heavy rain will fall in North Sumatra, D.I Yogyakarta, Central Java, and a number of major cities in the country today, Monday 21 November.
Quoting the BMKG website via Antara, apart from the areas already mentioned, heavy rain has the potential to occur in Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, West Java, East Java, and Bali.
Heavy rain is also predicted in several areas of West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan.
Furthermore, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua and Papua.
Meanwhile, the regions of Central Java, South Sulawesi, and North Maluku also have the potential to experience rain with a lighter intensity.
In particular, a number of major cities may experience heavy rains today including Yogyakarta, Jambi, Surabaya, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, and Kupang. Moderate intensity rain has the potential to fall in Bandar Lampung, Ambon, Padang, and Medan.

For the Jakarta area, the five administrative regions and the Thousand Islands are predicted to experience cloudy, sunny weather throughout the day.
BMKG warns that the East Nusa Tenggara region is included in the alert category for the impact of heavy rains such as floods and landslides.
While the alert category today until Tuesday 22 November morning, applies to Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau Islands, West Java, Central Java, D.I. Yogyakarta, and East Java.
