Interesting 2022 World Cup Opening Party: From Jungkook's Stunning Action, La'eeb Mascot To Nostalgic Song Waka Waka

JAKARTA - Qatar as the host of the 2022 World Cup successfully held an opening party on Sunday night. Carrying the theme of togetherness for all mankind, the opening ceremony at the Al Bayt Al Kohr Stadium was not only lively but also full of meaning.

At the stadium with a capacity of 60 thousand spectators, the most anticipated appearance was the solo moment of BTS member Jungkook. As a special performer at the opening ceremony for the 2022 World Cup, the youngest member of the South Korean idol group performed his song entitled Dreamer.

Not only impressing fans with his solo actions on stage, but Jungkook also collaborated with local musician, Fahad Al Kubaisi.

Not only presenting stunning performances, but the opening of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar also brought the audience to nostalgic moments of the previous World Cup.

This was presented through the playing of the song Waka Waka sung by Latin singer, Shakira. This song is the official soundtrack of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Not only Waka Waka, but the organizers also revived memories of the past through a series of previous editions of the soundtrack.

The appearance of mascots from various editions of the World Cup also amazed the audience. The organizers presented Willie, the mascot for the 1996 England World Cup, Juantino as the mascot for Mexico in 1970, Tip & Tap from the 1974 German World Cup, to Zakumi, the mascot for South Africa in 2010.

The end of excitement of the 2022 World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar cannot be separated from the appearance of La'eeb. Qatar's World Cup mascot which is a white stingray. Prior to that, the appearance of the famous actor, Morgan Freeman, also succeeded in gaining attention.

Freeman called for a number of unified messages behind Qatar's hosting of the 2022 World Cup. He appeared with the ambassador for the 2022 World Cup, Ghanim Muftah, who is a person with a disability.

In between their narrations about humanity and unity, Ghanim recited a clip from the holy Qur'an in the form of the 13th verse Al-Hujurat which corresponds to the theme of the 2022 World Cup.
