Observers Please The Government Immediately Encourages The Endemi After The End Of The G20

Tourism observer Taufan Rahmadi hopes that the government will immediately encourage the COVID-19 pandemic to become endemic after the end of the G20 Summit in Bali.

"With the absence of a pandemic, there will be no more barriers, no more handicaps (cants) in developing tourism in Indonesia," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

According to him, one of the keys to the revival of tourism in the world, especially in Indonesia, is when it is able to present large events in tourist destinations.

Therefore, the presence of the G20 Summit is considered to be an example of how an event was held considering that the meeting presented many foreign guests from various parts of the world.

"In my opinion, this must be replicated in every tourist destination in Indonesia," he said.

Taufan hopes that Bali's success in holding the G20 Summit can spur other provinces to rush to prepare various supporting facilities related to MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

"When talking about five super priority tourist destinations or other destinations, just determine destinations to hold events where the world's leaders are invited. MICE cannot be underestimated," said Taufan.

He also encouraged all regional leaders (governors, regents, and mayors) to ensure that every event held in their respective regional tourist destinations imitates successful events such as the G20 Summit.

"Obviously, when the G20 was held in Bali, we both know that friends in the tourism industry really feel helped. Those who were quiet, then suddenly rose because all business sectors are moving, the economy is moving, the transportation, the hotel, by the way, you name it," he said.

Overall, Taufan ensured that the implementation of the Summit which presented 17 G20 leaders was proof that the tourism sector in Indonesia had risen.
