Police Return Ultimatum Five Prokes Case Suspects, Submit Or Are Arrested
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya investigators have again given ultimatums to five suspects in the alleged violation of the health protocol to surrender or be arrested in connection with the crowd at M Rizieq Shihab's residence in the Petamburan area, Central Jakarta.
"Earlier, Pak Kabid (Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya) has two (options), surrender or be arrested," said Head of Public Relations of the Indonesian Police, Inspector General of Police, Argo Yuwono at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters.
Polda Metro Jaya has named six people as suspects in the alleged violation of health protocols during a celebration in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, December 14.
The six suspects were Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, Haris Ubaidillah as committee chairman, Ali bin Alwi Alatas (committee secretary), Maman Suryadi (FPI commander and security officer), Sobri Lubis (in charge of the event), and Idrus (head of the event section).
Rizieq was named a suspect by Polda Metro Jaya under Article 160 of the Criminal Code and Article 216 of the Criminal Code.
The other five suspects were designated as suspects under Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine.
Rizieq was deemed to have surrendered on Saturday morning and arrived at Polda Metro Jaya at 10.30 WIB and was then questioned for 11 hours.
Currently, Polda Metro Jaya investigators have arrested Rizieq as a suspect in violating health protocols.
"The suspect will be under detention from December 12 to the next 20 days," said Argo.
Argo said investigators were detaining Rizieq at the Jakarta Police Narcotics Detective Directorate Detention Center until December 31, 2020.
Argo added that investigators have objective and subjective considerations regarding Rizieq's detention, including a sentence of more than five years, so as not to lose evidence, not run away, and not commit the same crime.
