This Restaurant Opens Offshore Delivery Services Using Jet Skis, Can Message Iga Burgers To Milkshakes

JAKARTA - If restaurants generally open food order delivery services on land, this restaurant actually opens offshore delivery services, utilizing jet skis.

If you are on a ship sailing off the coast of The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and suddenly want to eat fast food, no longer need to travel back to the marine and down.

Starting last Friday, your food order will be delivered by jet ski. This is after the Double Like restaurant opens a floating kitchen, to serve customers at sea.

There will be no on-site dining facilities, but customers with small boats can pass through the kitchen to pick up their orders. Double Like calls it a "float-through" service.

Customers can also order by phone or via mobile app, with their food to be delivered by jet ski.

"Right in time to celebrate Double Like's second anniversary, we are proud to launch our first Aqua Pod, in a real Dubai style to go too far, but also provide extraordinary service to marine visitors," brand founder and managing partner NaDeem Bouzid told The National News as reported November 10.

Double Like opened its first restaurant at Umm Suqeim in 2020. This restaurant is known for its premium burgers, including its distinctive lobster roll and ribs burgers.

Offshore services will be equipped with a new menu, includingITE, fresh juice and ice cream.

"We will be at sea offering all our favorites Double Like," said Bouzid, who comes from a family of restaurant owners in England.

The offshore kitchen is designed by the UAE-based Aquatic Architects Design Studio, which creates the concept of Aqua Pods, or a versatile floating module that can be used as a commercial space.

Previously, Carrefour assigned the company to also make Aqua Pods for them, and basically opened a floating supermarket.

The floating pod is equipped with a mobile app to allow customers to accurately enter their offshore locations for delivery.
