An Elderly Man Who Drowned In The Tambora BKB River Turned Out To Be A Garbage Man In The Grogol Region

The joint SAR team is still looking for the drowning victim named Priyanto (57), a resident of Kampung Duri, Gambir, Central Jakarta. It is known that the drowning victim was a resident's garbage transport worker. Pryanto was reported missing after being plunged into the Ciliwung River, West Flood Canal (BKB), Tambora District, West Jakarta.

"The victim has not yet been found, is still in the process of being searched by the Basarnas team," said Tambora Police Chief Kompol Putra Pratama when confirmed by VOI, Friday, November 18.

Kompol Putra said the search for victims was focused on the crime scene (TKP) zone to Season City. The joint SAR team that searched for victims of about 35 personnel was deployed at the location.

"Every day the victim works as a garbage man in the Grogol area. The victim lives in West Duri Village, Duri Pulo Village, Gambir District," he said.

Previously, it was reported that an elderly man named Priyanto (57) was declared missing and drowned when he fell into the Ciliwung River, West Flood Canal (BKB), Tambora District, West Jakarta.

The victim fell while walking along the railroad bridge and then fell and hit the wall of the road divider. The case was then reported to the rescue team at the Jakarta SAR Office for a search on Thursday night, November 17.

"We and the joint SAR elements have carried out maximum search efforts since Thursday night using complete water SAR equipment," said Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation, Fazzli when confirmed by VOI, Friday, November 18.

Efforts to search for victims since Thursday night have been divided into 3 areas with different teams.
