3 Houses Affected By Landslides In Solok West Sumatra, Losses Are Estimated At IDR 360 Million

SUMBAR - Landslides hit the Jorong Lubuk Selasih area, Nagari Batang Barus, Gunung Talang District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra). As a result, a number of houses were damaged by landslides.

The three damaged houses are owned by residents named Ujang Ermonadi (64), Ifkar Santosa (60), and Syamsul Azwar (49).

"It is estimated that the total loss (towards) will reach Rp360 million," said Gunung Talang Police Chief AKP Aam Hermanto, quoted from Antara, Thursday, November 17.

Aam said the landslide hit three points in Solok. The three points are near Pertamina Lubuk Selasih, an area near the old Samsat, and an area near the cargo scale.

He ensured that the landslide disaster at three points in Solok did not cause any casualties. However, the police continued to install police lines around the landslide area.

Aam said that his party had coordinated with relevant government agencies to overcome the impact of landslides.

He appealed to residents to be aware of the possibility of landslides when heavy rains fell.

"Seeing the current weather conditions, the rain continues to fall, so it is possible that further landslides will occur in the jurisdiction of the Gunung Talang Police because this area is indeed a lot of hills," he said.
