Visiting Jokowi's Son In Solo, Anies Baswedan Responds To The Possibility Of Gibran Advancing The DKI Gubernatorial Election
JATENG - Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan met with the Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Anies said there was no political discussion when he met Gibran.
However, when asked about the possibility that Gibran would run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Anies responded positively. While praising Gibran's progress in leading Solo, Anies said the decision was entirely in the hands of President Jokowi's eldest son.
"He (Gibran) knows best, but basically I'm happy that Mas Gibran Solo is progressing, developing, and he is himself," said Anies after breakfast with Gibran at the Novotel Hotel Solo, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 15.
The former Minister of Education and Culture also respects Gibran who is open to friendship without distinguishing where he came from.
"I like it because Mas Gibran reaches all of them. Everyone is greeted, let's stay in touch with everyone. If I say his mainstay asor. That is one of the good properties that is an example," said Anies.
On that occasion, Anies also praised the development of Solo City which is more orderly and neat. "Alhamdulillah, seeing Solo neat, clean, orderly," he said.
Anies hopes that Solo can continue to progress and develop. In that togetherness too, Anies and Gibran shared their experiences in leading an area.
"We share experiences, both of them have been tasked with managing a city. In Jakarta, even though it is called a governor, it is also a city but big. It is the same with Solo," he said.
In addition, he said, it was also discussed about the management of public transportation and it was hoped that what had been implemented in Jakarta could be beneficial for Solo.
