Anticipating Floods, Jasa Marga Will Install Concrete Embankments on the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road
TANGERANG - PT Jasamarga Tollroad Maintenance (JMTM) through the Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad will install a concrete embankment (concrete barrier) along the Jakarta-Tangerang Kilometer (Km) 24 Toll Road as an effort to deal with the flooding that occurred.
"As a long-term anticipatory measure, Jasa Marga will build a concrete embankment", said Marketing and Communication Department Head of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad, Irra Susiyanti, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 14.
The effort to install the concrete embankment is a long-term step in anticipating the reoccurrence of floods on the Jakarta-Tangerang Km 24 toll road section.
Currently, his party has carried out emergency handling by operating several pumps at puddle points along the Km 24 route.
"Currently Jasa Marga is still operating the pumps as a measure to deal with puddles on the toll road", she said.

"Meanwhile, Bitung exit access from the Cikupa direction and Bitung entry access towards Jakarta operates normally", she said.
According to her, the inundation at SS Bitung on the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road occurred due to high rainfall that occurred on Sunday, November 13, as well as the high water discharge of the Kali Manis River, so that overflowing water entered the body of the toll road.
"For the time being, closing the entrance and exit of Bitung at Km 26 during the inundation handling process as well as securing and regulating traffic flow at the inundation location", she said.

Previously, due to overflowing water from the Sabi River, several roads on the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road were flooded, so the traffic flow on the toll road, precisely at Km 24 in the Bitung-Tangerang direction, experienced congestion.
"For the time being, the opposite direction is from (Tomang) all lanes can be crossed by vehicles", she said.
According to her, the water level that submerged several sections of the toll road, precisely at Km 24, was between 20-30 centimeters. Which, these conditions, made access to the left and middle lanes of the road stalled and resulted in traffic jams.
"The water level at Km 24+000 - 24+500, to be precise, has been around 20 centimeters since 15.30 WIB", she said.
