Bar-bar! Because Of A Misunderstanding On The Road, The Motorcyclist Was Shouted At By The Thief And Beaten By Residents In The Ciputat Area

JAKARTA - A viral video on social media shows a man being beaten by a mob on Jalan Ciputat Raya, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. The video states that the man is suspected of being a robber. The person was seen being beaten and taken by local residents.

Contacted separately, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kebayoran Lama Metro Police, AKP Iwan said that the man who was detained was not a robber, but a victim.

"The initial investigation was not a robber, it was the victim who was beaten in the video," said Iwan when confirmed, Monday, November 14.

Iwan explained that at first it started with a misunderstanding between the victim and the residents. Then the victim was accused of being a thief and a local resident, until finally he was beaten by the masses.

When asked further, iwan admitted that he could not explain. Because the person concerned is being investigated.

"Because previously there might have been a misunderstanding on the road with other motorists and then they were shouted at by thieves and other residents and motorists to be taken to the police station," he concluded.

Iwan said, the Kebayoran Lama Police carried out an investigation and looked for the perpetrators who shouted at the victim and who hit him.

"We are still investigating, mas, for people who find him as a thief. The victim's initials AL is 21 years old. Abrasions on mas.." he concluded.
